my family

This weekend I got the best of both worlds. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday I got to spend time with the family on my mom's side. Sunday I got to spend time with family on my dad's side. It was on our trek home from Heber in the slick freezing snow that I started to ask myself... what makes family reunions so fantastic! What is it that makes us not only stand, but enjoy waking up to a freezing inch of snow... and then play in it?! Well most of my cousins live in Idaho, so I rarely get to see them, so when they come up for the weekend we love every second of it!! Even when my uncle is freaking out at us for watching a movie in the cabin instead of enjoying the great outdoors, we don't mind!! We just love being together! (AND we are able to stand that uncle!)Even my cousins that live near me, it's nice to not have to compete with dance and other school activities, you are all there just to be together! Today with the family on my dad's side, I concluded the same thing. I rarely get to see those cousins, but for the day it felt as if we were all next door neighbors! It's amazing how much love you can feel for family you haven't seen for years, and even family you have just met. Everyone knows that we will have a limited time together so everyone is as nice as possible! This is what makes family reunions so great!!
