art art art

On Thursday my mom and I went to the BYU museum of art to see my cousin who works there in the gift shop. I was so excited to see my cousin... but I was also SOO excited to see the artwork! I LOVE art!! As I was walking through the Christmas display it gave me time to think and ponder everything about Christmas. Afterwards I went into the permanent art selections and started to take a look around. There's one painting that has always been my favorite from the MOA. Le premier chagrin by Daniel Ridgway Knight. I don't know if the reason I love it so much is my absolute French fetish, or because the painting is just so captivating to me! I couldn't find this painting upstairs in the museum and I was getting a little worried. I went downstairs and started frantically searching for it. Finally I went down one hallway and saw the corner of the painting, saw the beautiful colors and knew it was my painting! So there's a reason I love this painting so much, the colors are so beautiful. They are dark but romantic making the viewer want to get to know the painting when they are just walking by. Once you do start to look closer at the painting you can't help but try to figure out what these two girls and discussing. They both have sad looks on their faces which make the viewer want to know exactly what is troubeling them. I could look at this painting all day coming up with different stories and situations they could be going through. If I wasn't thinking of that, I could look at the painting all day because of its wonderful colors and landscape!!

chasing cars

So you probably read the title and assumed I was going to tell you about a crazy night twhen my friends and I chased cars... well you were wrong. I'm reffering to the song "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol. The other day I was driving home by myself from a friends house and this song came on. I was singing along and the part came that says, "Those three words are said too much they're not enough" Those three words are of course "I love you." When it says "they're not enough" I don't think it's saying that telling someone you love them is not enough. People use the words "I love you" too much and when they don't mean it. If you walk down the hall you can't count on your hands and toes how many times people say "I love you!" These days we use this phrase to simply say we like someone!! So when we want to use these words to express our real feelings of love... they simply aren't enough.
