the nightmares of the end of the term!

i was looking back at all my other blogs and realized that most of them come down to the fact that if we would plan our time, plan, and prepare we could enjoy life SO much more! Well.. for the end of the term it's still true! Guaranteed every student (and teacher) knows what it's like to wait until the last week of the term to get everything done. It's major cramming all week long. Staying up until one doing homework, being at the school thirty minutes early to retake tests and talk to teachers (and also staying after school!) The worst is the STRESS!! The truth is, the last week of the term doesn't have to be this crazy! The problem is that we make it crazy. School is usually hard enough, we don't need to wait until the last second to get our work done, we won't enjoy it, we won't even really learn it that way! It's all about the time, taking the time and knowing that it's worth it!

Din din morris

I’m sitting here smelling all the delicious food my mom is cooking for Sunday dinner and I started to think… how would I feel about dinner if it was JUST the main course. No jell-o, no corn, no rice, no salad… just meat! It would be so boring! If we didn’t have a choice at dinner of what we wanted to eat, I would feel like I was being pressured and couldn’t make any decisions myself!! We need variety in everything so that we can choose what we really want. Thank goodness for all the little side dishes at dinner. :)

Time time time

I know everybody knows what it’s like to procrastinate so much they get to the point that it’s just constantly math, math, math or work, work, work ALL the time! The problem with this is that when you have to dedicate your entire day to these activities you don’t enjoy them! Math can be fun (if you know how to do it) but once you’ve been doing it for 12 hours straight you are ready to never do math again! When you think about it this is the same for… everything we do! You could take five minutes every day to pick up your room OR you could not clean it for weeks until your mother threatens that you can’t go out until it’s clean. At that point it takes you hours because you don’t even know where to begin!! If we could just not procrastinate we could enjoy so much more in life!! :)

HahaHA!

No matter what’s going on in my life I’m always in the mood for a good laugh! The truth is, we find comedy in all kinds of entertainment. In commercials, in romance movies, in horror flicks, and of course in comedies! Comedy is sometimes needed to just lighten the mood of things. Comedy is the ultimate source of entertainment because not only does it get someone’s mind off their problems, but it lifts their spirits at the same time. After you go see a comedy you can’t help but continue to laugh and smile afterwards! A comedy reminds us that even though there may be serious problems in our lives there is always time to kick back and have a good laugh.

Let’s go to the movies!

There’s something about getting all glammed up, spending $8 on a ticket, $8 more on treats, and enjoying the newest flick. No matter what type of movie you’re seeing it’s two hours of entertainment and enjoyment where you don’t have to think about your own problems. Instead the fictional problems of the characters you are watching become the most important thing to the viewer! There are many things that can get someone’s mind off their own lives, so why spend so much money on entertainment that does?! I think to some people the fact that they are spending so much money makes them feel wealthy and feel like they deserve to forget their problems.

Just whistle while you work…

Yesterday I went into work not knowing what to expect. In a certain department two employees suddenly quit, so I was asked to fill in for them. I was excited for the opportunity to work in another department and to learn something new! At the same time I was scared of the unknown! I wasn’t comfortable with this new job! I was able to learn quickly and become more comfortable with performing the job. This made me think sometimes we become obsessed with fear of the unknown. How can we ever learn and grow?! Sometimes we just have to step out of our comfort zone and into the unknown so we can grow.
